The movie started off ok, reminiscent of Se7en or the Silence of the Lambs, had an interesting premise and interesting characters but soon it all went downhill. It was like se7en's little brother shouting "Hey! look what I can do! I'm cool and creepy too! Look at me look at me!" I hated the end of it, the twist at the end thing which is so popular today can be done really well and make sense, but in this movie it felt stupid and almost tacked-on. It really wasn't that good a movie; but how bad this movie was isn't the reason I'm ranting today about it. I'm ranting about a continuity error which just threw the whole movie out the window for me. I really hated this movie because of the fact that it broke the rule of Clues to the Villian.

Ok during the movie we get glimpses of the killer's eyes through the rear view mirror of the taxi he drives. His eyes are old and are like steel blue. Then at the end the killer is revealed to be someone who we didn't expect, as per the usual twist at the end thing, and it's someone who is in the movie previously for like 5 seconds and was so unimportant you didn't even remember his character at all by the end. You're sitting there like "Uh... who is this guy again? The doctor? What doctor? I don't remember a doctor at the beginning of the movie." The only reason I knew who his character was was because I recognized the actor, Leland Orser. I actually kinda like him,he's like the underdog actor and he does a good neurotic psychopath :-). Ok, I'm getting to my point now, keep yer pants on. Leland Orser's eyes are NOT BLUE! The eyes of the killer shown in the rearview mirror look NOTHING like Leland Orser's eyes. They deliberately place false evidence to mislead the audience into thinking someone else is the killer. That breaks all the rules of murder mystery. The killer's eyes are blue in the mirror and when the killer is revealed at the end the killer's eyes are BROWN!! For shame Mr. Director! You need to learn that it's ok to *hint* towards someone else being the killer, that's what you're supposed to do, but you aren't allowed to change someone's genetics or the laws of physics or things like that. If you've got a scene where the killer is partly shown, you have to use the guy who actually is the killer in that scene, or else it's just bad filmmaking. To illustrate my point better let's make the example a little more extreme. You wouldn't, say, show the killer's eyes as some young blue-eyed boy's eyes and then have the killer turn out to be Morgan Freeman now would you? That would be excruciatingly bad filmmaking and you'd deserve to be drug out into the street and shot. You can't do that in filmmaking! That's just going to piss off your audience, and I gotta say you did a good job of that.
