Ok people listen up and listen good. It's pronounced "Nuclear" not "Nukeular"! Do you see a difference? Do you hear a difference? I sure do. Right way is pronounced "New-clear" and the wrong way is pronounced "Nuke-u-lur". They've made fun of the mispronounciation on the Simpsons, the Daily Show, and many other programs. I've noticed that most of the people who don't say nuclear correctly have only a limited education or a limited social/financial background and they don't even notice that they don't say it properly. The most irritating thing is when George W. Bush says Nukeular. It's sad and funny at the same time. NUUUU-KLEEE-URRRR!! Get it through your heads.
Oh and some other common ones: Libary instead of Library (Ly-brare-ee), foilage instead of foliage (fo-lee-age), sammich instead of sandwich (sand-witch), pootn' instead of poutine (poo-teen), shimera instead of Chimera (ky-mare-uh), skedule instead of schedule (it's actually supposed to be pronounced shed-yule, imagine my shock!) and there's so many others that I can't remember right now. There was this one time I saw a guy who was looking at the word "Xtreme" and for some reason he didn't see the X in front of the word and kept calling it "tremmie". That was so dumb that I could even put it in my rant about stupid people part 2. Oh and just so you know not all canadians pronounce about like "aboot". Common myth. Yes, there are some but not all. I definately do not, nor do i say "eh!" after every question. Oh, did I forget to mention I'm canadian? oops. Ah well, whaddaya gonna do.
