Why do stores feel the need to advertise and decorate for X-mas long before december? I don't get it. I can't tell you how annoying it is to be getting ready for one holiday and it feels like you're already being rushed right into another one. I mean little kids are going into stores like zellers or walmart looking for costumes for Halloween but instead they are bombarded by santas?? Right now it's August and I saw a flyer with one store advertising X-mas wrap. It's not even close to Halloween yet and X-mas is already being pushed upon us. Are stores really that desperate for our money? I see it sometimes right before Valentines day that stores are already selling easter items. No wonder the years seem to fly by lately, we're being rushed into one holiday after another. I just think it is disrespectful to the spirit of the holiday to start celebrating the next one coming up before the first one's even started. Putting up your christmas lights before halloween, putting up your first of July (or fourth for you americans) before Easter, it totally detracts from the meaning of the first holiday when you're already preparing for the next. These days are important for a reason, give each one some room to breathe.
