14 August the rant about movie trailersThe movie executives are wondering why attendance at theaters is going down, along with dvd sales? I honestly don't see what the point of going to see a movie in theaters nowdays when the freakin trailer for the movie is shown on tv 30 times a day and ruins the entire plot for you. Take the Island for example, did really really poorly in box office. The executives were saying that it was partly because of the controvercial subject matter, the two leading stars weren't "big names", and the poster making Scarlett Johannsen look like "a porn star". There have been tons of movies about clones, it wasn't the subject matter. Ewan MacGregor and Scarlett Johannsen are both big enough names to draw good crowds; both are also very good actors, better than other action movie stars typically found in sci-fi movies such as this *cough*tomcruise*cough*. It wasn't Ewan or Scarlett. The movie's poster was fine, it wasn't the poster. It was the fact that after watching the 30 second commercial the entire plot of the movie was given to you! What was left to see, some action sequences? I am so not about to shell out $15.00 so see some action sequences, and I doubt that too many other would either. Hey, movie advertisers! Leave some mystery to the movie in the trailer! Keep your plot synopses brief and vague so all the twists aren't revealed before you see it! How many people would have gone to see the Sixth Sense if the twist at the end was revealed in the commercial? Zero. I would have liked to be able to go into the movie not already knowing that Ewan's and Scarlett's characters were clones. It would have been an interesting surprise, unfortunately you've ruined it for me. 引用通告此內容的引用通告是: http://apathygrrl.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!5712E5E005791E46!159.trak 引述這則內容的部落格
